ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro
- and nanoelectronics.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Mechatronics Development Engineer (m/f/x) who solves technical problems in a structured manner within a team. You bring top-tier knowledge in mechatronics and control engineering and want to apply it to the development of qualification processes. A daily focus will be algorithm development in Matlab. You see yourself as a proactive communicator who can identify and bring together key stakeholders in technical projects.


Your Role:

Process development for integration, commissioning, and qualification of mechatronic modules and systemsRequirements management: define qualification-process and test-bench requirements concerning dynamics and process stability in collaboration with key stakeholdersWork-package ownership: guide the development of test benches and processes, their commissioning, and handover to production; technical planning, detailing, and responsibility for work packages in system integration with a focus on mechatronic qualificationMeasurements and analyses: perform and evaluate measurements to determine mechanical, electrical, and dynamic properties of components, assemblies, and machinesSoftware development: develop analysis algorithms and measurement software in Matlab



Your Profile

Successfully completed university studies in mechatronics, control engineering, computational engineering, electrical engineering or a related field; PhD is a plusExcellent knowledge in control engineering and mechatronics, particularly in system identification, system qualification, system tuning, and uncertainty analysesVery good programming skills, ideally in Matlab; first experience contributing to larger code repositories is desirablePractical experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault classification in mechatronic systems, plus knowledge of experiments and simulationsStructured problem-solving approach and goal-oriented communicationStrong teamwork, confident and friendly presence, and high proactivityVery good English and good German language skills, both written and spoken
