Safety Field Investigator

We want you to: Lead and coordinate related Hyundai groups aimed at identifying and resolving vehicle safety items, and liaise with all other Hyundai teams involved with these activities Identify and develop innovative analytical approaches to detect potential vehicle safety issues  Actively monitor results, effectiveness, and promotion of engineer-led examinations of consumer complaint data, field reports, legal cases, supplier information; dealer reports, plant information, other safety recalls, compliance and consumer metric testing, Rapex, or other authorities data and outliers in warranty data. Identify possible safety related defects and/or non-compliances associated with Hyundai production vehicles Once identified as a possible issue, conduct an internal thorough data-driven, but timely, investigation to determine the severity of the occurrence of the issue, the root cause, the number of vehicles affected, the ability of consumers to detect the issue and all probable corrective actions related to this issue Actively track and manage identified issues based on assigned vehicle component responsibilities throughout complete field fix cycle  Monitor field status and coordinate vehicle and part investigations Conduct field inspections of post-event vehicles or in-service vehicles at dealerships or alternate locations, if necessary Participate in vehicle safety forums, technical conferences, meetings, panels, etc. and internally disseminate the knowledge gained Work with the related Hyundai groups to identify potential anomalies in field fix performance and trigger immediately the related deep-dive analysis Review periodically the field information on component and subsystem functionality with focus on safety and derive all required action plans Ensure a close monitoring of: -Dealer systems/ Customer Satisfaction Surveys/ Warranty case documentation/Product liability cases (fire, airbag, property damage) Provide a concise presentation to upper management that clearly defines the issue(s) and the parameters outlined above and provide recommendations on field actions About you: University Degree in Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience within Quality or Safety in the Automotive Industry General automotive technical knowledge (Ex: body, chassis, brakes, electrical, safety systems) High level of authority to self-check and ensure accuracy when analyzing high volumes of data  Ability to judge independently and understand how various factors and trends can impact business decision-making Ability to proactively collaborate with peers, vehicle component experts, and leadership within the organization Ability to present to and manage stakeholders Must be able to travel periodically Desire to work for a fast-paced, multi-cultural and result-oriented company Excellent communication and collaboration skills Fluency in English Fluency in Korean highly preferred Rewards and Benefits A competitive salary and benefits package Flexible working hours and hybrid work policy Continued learning and professional development Car sharing and lease mobility program Free Korean, European and Vegetarian lunch at our canteen Free access to the company gym Opportunities to join sporting clubs including football, tennis, golf and yoga Highly international working environment
