For permanent employment OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen  is looking for aSystems Engineer (m/f/d) Quantum Technologies Your Tasks Your responsibilities will span the full systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements definition to testing, validation, and verification—with particular focus on design, implementation, and validation of technical solutions.In your daily work this will translate into following key responsibilities:Quantum Technologies & Secure CommunicationContribute to studies and early-phase projects (Phases 0/A/B) focused on quantum technologiesSupport implementation projects (Phases B/C/D/E) with emphasis on secure and quantum communication systemsSystems Engineering Define and manage customer, mission, and system requirementsDevelop specifications for systems and subsystems, including interface engineeringDefine technical baselines and budgets for systems and subsystemsPerform trade-offs of technical and programmatic solutionsCompile documentation according to space standardsTechnical ImplementationDevelopment and implementation of technical solutions in the laboratoryOverview and management of technical solutions developed externally for particular systems and subsystemsReporting and technical contact person towards stakeholders for particular systems and subsystemsTesting, Validation & VerificationPlan and execute test campaigns at system and subsystem levelsConduct laboratory work to implement validation and verification activitiesAnalyze and trade-off performance-related parameters for time, frequency and polarization synchronization between satellite and groundProject & Work Package ManagementManage work packages and sub-projects within larger projectsRepresent the work packages and/or sub-project(s) as technical point-of-contact towards sucontractors and customersProposal DevelopmentParticipate in or lead proposal creation, particularly in the domain of quantum technologiesDefine technical baselines and development logic for proposalsDefine study and development logic, including work breakdown structuresSupport budget definition and engineering activities Your QualificationsMaster’s degree in Photonics or related field with focus on Quantum Information and Laser PhysicsProven knowledge of electrical engineering and information technology or a related field, , further education or university degreeExperience with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) concepts and systemsPreferably Hands-on experience with development of QKD systems, including polarization and time synchronization for space-based applicationsWorking experience with Analog and digital circuit design for communication systemsBasic Knowledge of FPGA programming and electronic hardware implementations for signal processing is an advantageWorking experience with programming (C, python) for potential hardware integration, automation, development and system testing is a plusWorking experience in system-level design, testing and documentation for optical and quantum communication systems, ideally in space industryStrong solution oriented, self-managed and pro-active working stylePassion for technology and the motivation to turn ideas into reality We offer Work Life Balance: Flexible working hours, sabbatical, 30 days vacation & special leave days Mobile Work: Hybrid work & mobile work abroad Structured on-boarding process (incl.
