Responsibilities: As a Quantum Error Correction Engineer (f/m/d) at eleQtron, you will be part of a team with a mission to develop, set up and operate our trapped-ion quantum computers and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with our international team of physicists and engineers from different disciplines. Depending on your level of experience, you will work on one or more of the following tasks: Develop and implement quantum error correction codes and error mitigation techniques for trapped-ion quantum computersOptimize gate sequences and decoding strategies, leveraging stabilizer formalism and fault-tolerant approachesPerform noise characterization and benchmarking to guide hardware and software improvementsImplement QEC protocols, producing clear technical documentation, reports, or publicationsStay updated on research in QEC and NISQ-era error mitigation, and translate insights into actionable improvementsRequired Skills:PhD in (theoretical)physics, mathematics, computer science, or related field, or MSc with demonstarted experience in quantum error correction through research, industrial projects, or substantial open-source contributionsHands-on experience implementing QEC codes or error mitigation techniques on real or simulated quantum hardwareStrong knowledge of QEC codes (e.g., surface codes, bosonic codes, subsystem codes), stabilizer formalism, and fault-tolerant designProficiency in Python and familiarity with quantum computing frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, or QuTiPAbility to work independently on complex problems and deliver high-quality resultsFluency in English We Value: Experience with trapped-ion physics or any other quantum hardware platformsKnowledge of numerical optimization techniques or quantum controlExperience in interdisciplinary teams and agile developmentWhat you can expect from eleQtron: Competitive salary: We value our team members and therefore provide remunerations that reflect this, additionally rewarding achievements.
