Huawei Heisenberg Research Center (Munich) is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.The Optical Technology Laboratory in Munich researches and develops signal processing, components and systems for fixed access, data center networks, metro and long-haul optical networks. The department engages in local research and collaborates with academic and industrial partners from the European ecosystem.Join us as a PhD Student Communication Network Optimization (m/f/d)We’re looking for a motivated and creative individual who is passionate about technology and excited to push the boundaries of research in optical communication. You should have a strong technical background in mathematical optimization and machine learning, but more importantly, you should have a curiosity for new technologies and a desire to make a difference.Your missionConduct innovative research in communication networks with emerging technologies.Develop and test algorithms and control strategies to improve the performance and operation of dynamic and scalable networks.Support standardization efforts in communication networks.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on exciting, large-scale projects.Publish and present latest research achievements in academic conferences and journals.Contribute to intellectual property generation.Your areas of expertise Master’s degree in electrical engineering, informatics, telecommunications, or a related fieldIn-depth experience with mathematical optimization and machine learningSolid understanding of modeling and optimizing communication networkProficiency in Python and C++Fluent in written and spoken English languageBy applying to this position, you agree with our Recruitment Privacy Statement.
