AI Technology Lead

This position is part of Novanta’s Advanced Surgery business unit. Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, Advanced Surgery develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce eg Cameras, Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that makes diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate. Job Summary The AI Technology Lead will drive the growth of AI utilization by integrating AI mindset and tooling into the company's traditional workflows. This role will spearhead evolutionary growth and lead the integration of AI-driven functions into existing product lines. Tasks Primary Responsibilities Lead the dissemination of AI knowledge through training, workshops, and hackathons. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging AI solutions. Identify new AI tools that would benefit the organization; Work with the team to implement these new AI tools Drive the augmentation of AI into business processes. Champion the growth of AI knowledge within teams and business units. Contribute to the implementation of AI best practices in various functional teams. Mentor and guide BU leadership in AI technologies and methods. Foster culture shifts towards AI adoption and build synergies between business units. Stay abreast of the latest AI trends and technologies. Ensure data privacy and cyber security and implement measures to secure sensitive information. Requirements Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies Extensive experience in AI ecosystems, with a requirement for Microsoft ecosystem & technologies ideally profound experience in product development Strong leadership & resilience, communication, and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience building dedicated agents/LLMs Ability to think critically and creatively to develop AI solutions that provide business value CTO experience in a start-up environment would be ideal A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (a master's degree is preferred). fluent English is a must, German would be a plus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Support developing KPIs to track & monitor AI technology adoption: AI Adoption Rate: Track the percentage of business units and teams actively using AI tools and solutions. Strive to >80% adoption of AI tools to support their daily activities Training and Development Impact: Evaluate the effectiveness of AI training programs through feedback surveys and the number of employees trained. Innovation and Implementation: Measure the number of new AI-driven features or products successfully implemented. Drive improved product vitality through new AI capabilities in our products Colleague Productivity: Target a 10% improved productivity through the use of AI Stakeholder Satisfaction: Gather feedback from stakeholders on the effectiveness and impact of AI solutions. Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Track the number of AI knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and hackathons conducted. AI Project Success Rate: Measure the percentage of AI projects completed successfully within the defined timeline and budget. Data Privacy and Security Compliance: Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and security standards, with zero data breaches.
