The L3S Research Center welcomes applications for two positions starting at the earliest possible date: Research & Innovation Manager / Project Manager in the EU project ARXIVE (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) The two positions are initially limited until 31 December 2028. Work location is flexible / partially remote; project-related travel required. Your role ARXIVE is a European Union–funded research project developing and testing innovative digital approaches for the documentation, analysis, and communication of cultural heritage. The project focuses on practice-oriented tools for the semantic enrichment, annotation, and contextualization of digital heritage objects, including high-quality 3D representations. Solutions are developed in collaboration with international partners and validated in real-world application scenarios with cultural institutions. The project aims to translate research outcomes into sustainable, application-oriented solutions and to disseminate results through publications, demonstrators, and related dissemination formats. We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team. Within the ARXIVE project, you will contribute to research and project coordination, including the following tasks: Project and Work Package Management: - Support the management of LUH-led Work Packages 6 and 8, and assist with cross-work-package collaboration across the project. - Develop plans, processes, and schedules - Ensure high-quality reports and timely results - Contribution to the scientific and technical implementation of the EU-funded ARXIVE project - Independent research and development tasks within the project scope - Support for the analysis, documentation, and further development of project methods and results - Contribution to project reports, presentations, and scientific publications - Participation in dissemination and communication activities to increase the visibility of project outcomes (e.g. workshops, webinars, conferences). - Collaboration with national and international project partners Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP): - Implement the FSTP program and support funded institutions - Organize workshops, virtual consultations, and training sessions - Document results and lessons learned GLAM Digital Innovation Toolkit & Capacity Building: - Applied research and analysis on digitalisation processes in GLAM institutions (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) and on digital cultural heritage in Europe, including surveys, questionnaires and evaluations - Leading contribution to the conceptualisation, development and adaptation of templates, workflows and case studies - Systematic translation of pilot and FSTP experiences into reusable, multilingual materials and contributions to the GLAM Digital Innovation Toolkit Policy, Dissemination & Impact: - Contribute to policy briefs, deliverables, publications, and popular science articles - Support stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and network building Collaboration & Mobility: - Collaborate closely with international partners and cultural heritage institutions - Work online and travel for project-related activities Who are we looking for? University science degree (MA and/or MSc) in Business Administration, Innovation Management, Project Management, International Relations, Research Management, Public Policy, or related fields Experience in cultural heritage, GLAM institutions, or digitization projects is a plus Proven ability to manage or implement complex multi-partner projects (EU-funded projects preferred) The project language is English; all project communication, reporting, and coordination are conducted in English. German skills are a plus for project-related activities in German-speaking countries Strong teamwork, intercultural competence, organizational skills, independent working style, commitment, and resilience Enjoys networking with international partners and stakeholders The position reports directly to Ms Alexandra Garatzogianni, who provides supervision and guidance on tasks and project work.
