Sustainability Manager

WRC Promoter GmbH, the commercial rights holder for the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and FIA European Rally Championship (ERC), is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Manager (m/w/d) to lead and implement sustainability initiatives across its operations. The Sustainability Manager will oversee the Beyond Rally platform—WRC Promoter's comprehensive sustainability initiative—and spearhead collaborative projects with stakeholders to align with global environmental goals, while introducing and fostering Sustainability Sales initiatives. This involves envisioning and developing innovative projects and partnerships appealing to B2B and commercial partners.

Sustainability Strategy & Implementation

• Lead the development and execution of the Beyond Rally platform, integrating sustainability efforts across championships.
• Develop and implement the Sustainability Roadbook for WRC Promoter GmbH and its championships, in line with the FIA's Environmental Strategy.
• Maintain FIA 3-star accreditation and progress towards ISO 14001 / ISO 20121 certification(s).
• Lead and manage carbon footprint measurement and reduction across all WRC and ERC events.

Project Management, Reporting & Sustainability Sales

• Develop and implement sustainability-driven initiatives with brand partners under the Beyond Rally umbrella, including sustainability conferences, talent programs (such as the Women's Driver Development Programme), and commercially valuable sustainability projects.
• Collaborate with commercial partners to identify and execute sustainability-focused business opportunities that align with their ESG goals.
• Envision and establish innovative projects that drive revenue while promoting environmental and social sustainability.
• Track, analyse, and report on sustainability KPIs, ensuring alignment with corporate and championship objectives.
• Identify opportunities for further environmental and social sustainability improvements within WRC Promoter GmbH.

Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance

• Provide strategic guidance to event organisers, teams, and partners to help them attain FIA 3-star accreditation and adopt best environmental practices.
• Promote and drive behavioural change among event promoters, teams, and the broader rallying community.
• Assist in conducting internal and external sustainability audits and shareholder reporting.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a sustainability role, preferably in sports, events, or motorsport.
• Expertise in environmental standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 20121) and carbon footprint assessments.
• Proven experience in multi-stakeholder environmental management and sustainability reporting.
• Experience in developing partnerships for sustainability initiatives is a plus.
• Strong project management skills with a results-driven approach.
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Knowledge of motorsport industry dynamics is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel as required.
