Your tasks ?As a Master's student (m/f/x), you will be immersed in an exciting research field focusing on in-car XR technologies. You will explore the state-of-the-art and conduct a structured literature review.For your Master's thesis, you will have the opportunity to concentrate on one of the following topics:Investigating in-car AR/VR text input for dynamic environmentsExploring motion sickness mitigation approaches for in-car AR/VR in moving vehiclesImproving the precision and reducing the error rate of in-car AR/VR interactions through deep learningRegardless of the chosen topic, your responsibilities will include designing interactive XR concepts in Unity (C#), developing prototypes, and iteratively improving them – from initial feasibility studies to a study-ready build.You will plan and conduct user studies in real in-car passenger scenarios, including study design, metrics, and analysis.By documenting your methods and results in your Master's thesis and assisting in the preparation of a scientific publication, you will contribute to making your research accessible to a broad audience.Depending on your chosen focus, you can investigate and develop innovative approaches to reduce motion sickness in in-car AR/VR applications in moving vehicles, or optimize the precision of in-car AR/VR interactions by using deep learning methods, reduce the error rate, and thus make a significant contribution to improving the user experienceYour profile?You are an enrolled Master's student (m/f/x) in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.You have sound knowledge of Unity and C#.Furthermore, you have basic experience in immersive technologies (AR/VR/MR), ideally complemented by knowledge of handling Head-Mounted Displays and experience in scientific work and conducting user studies.Your enthusiasm for Augmented or Virtual Reality, as well as your strong analytical and conceptual skills and high motivation to delve into new technologies and topics, set you apart.Excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as fluent written and spoken German and English, are a matter of course for you.A Class B driving license is advantageous to optimally support our in-car studies.You enjoy regularly collaborating with your team on-site in Böblingen.Unlock your chance: Send us your complete application (incl. certificate of enrollment, transcript of records, if applicable, residence permit/work permit) and become part of our teamBenefitsFlexible working hoursTo ensure that there is still enough free time in addition to studying and working, you will receive a pro rata 30 vacation days with us as well as the opportunity to plan your working hours flexibly.
