Hauptaufgaben Maintains Nickel-Cadmium aircraft and Lithium batteries. Based on special factory publication, measures various electrical values, charges, cleans, replenishes, tests, stores and issues assigned batteries and maintains service records. Performs periodical prescribed inspection and testing of batteries. Involving removing, cleaning, disassembly, repair, assembly, charging, testing, IPW detailed instructions,, observing safety precautions for batteries, test and charging equipment and personnel. Enters maintenance data in records. Receives in operational discharged, defective, damaged batteries; cleans and tests items; determines cause of in operational condition; disassembles cells, checks and tests then individually; replaces defective ones; assembles, charges and determines final operational condition; enters repair data on record; stores or issues to organizations. Receives new Nickel-Cadmium type batteries of different sizes and configurations. Establishes and maintains service control card for each battery. Performs initial check and charging IAW special publications using electrical values measuring instruments and special tools. Stores or issues batteries. Works in strict accordance with safety and occupational health regulations. Maintains tools, work, charging and stockage area in prescribed, safe and clean, condition, reports carry suspicious hazard condition immediately to supervisor for correction.Performs other duties as assigned.
