The Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST in Braunschweig offers motivated students the opportunity to work on a student thesis/research project on the topic »Modeling of electrochemical and mechanical stress for All-Solid-State Batteries« in the Process and Production Engineering for Sustainable Energy Storage Systems department from 01.06.2024. What you will do • Developing an electrochemically coupled mechanical model to simulate the stress generation in All-Solid-State Batteries • Preparation and interpretation of simulation results What you bring to the table You are studying mechanical engineering, computer science, materials science or a comparable subject and fulfil the following requirements: • Motivation to explore scientific challenges • Previous experience with Comsol Multiphysics • Preferable knowledge in All-Solid-State Battery systems • Independent, disciplined and conscientious way of working • Flexible, reliable and motivated • Good handling of English as working language What you can expect • Precise and clearly defined tasks • Supervision and support • Team-oriented work • Access to necessary resources • Possibility of self-thinking and develop skills accordingly We value and promote the diversity of our employees' skills and therefore welcome all applications - regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion, ideology, disability, sexual orientation and identity.
