Security Operations Center Lead

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned security professional to lead and scale our Security Operations Center. As the SOC manager, you will establish and refine SOC processes, mentor and grow a team of analysts, and serve as the primary point of contact for all incident response and security monitoring activities. You will partner with engineering, IT, and executive leadership to align our security operations with business objectives, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuously improve our detection, investigation, and response capabilities.Key responsibilities:Manage the day-to-day operations of the SOC, including alert triage, incident response, and threat huntingDevelop and maintain SOC playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating proceduresLead major security incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams and communicating status to stakeholdersDefine and track SOC metrics (MTTR, alert volume, false-positive rate, etc.) to drive continuous improvementOversee tuning and optimization of SIEM/SOAR platforms, ensuring high-fidelity detectionsConduct regular risk assessments and gap analyses to identify and remediate security weaknessesMentor, coach, and develop SOC analysts and engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of learning and excellenceEnsure SOC processes and documentation meet regulatory requirementsEvaluate, recommend, and implement new security tools and technologiesExtensive experience in cybersecurity operations in a leadership or SOC management roleQualificationsDeep understanding of SIEM, SOAR, incident response methodologies, threat intelligence, and cloud security (AWS preferred)Proven track record of building or scaling a SOC, including process development and team managementRelevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC (GSOC, GCIH) are a plusExceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive, results-oriented mindsetExperience aligning security operations with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, DORA, PCI-DSS, etc.)Additional InformationBe part of one of the fastest-growing and most visible Fintech startups in Europe, creating innovative services that have a substantial impact on the lives of our customersWork with an international, diverse, inclusive, and ever-growing team that loves creating the best products for our clientsWork from our centrally located offices in the heart of Munich or Berlin, nestled in lively neighborhoods filled with vibrant restaurants, cozy cafés, and a wide range of convenient amenities Be productive with the latest hardware and toolsLearn and grow by joining our in-house knowledge sharing or career development sessions and spending your individual Education Budget Learn and experience German culture first hand by joining our free German language classesInternational relocation support is provided if required Flexible vacation policy and the opportunity to work from abroadBenefit from an attractive compensation package and from the company pension schemeMonthly contribution of 50% for the ‘Deutschland Jobticket’Say goodbye to order commissions and say hello to your complimentary subscription of Scalable Capital's PRIME+ BrokerEnjoy flexible and discounted sports activities with Urban Sports Club#LI-Hybrid
