Taconic is seeking a collaborative representative of the IT technical services in Germany:
Part time role as Systems Administrator (m/f/d) at Taconic Bioscienses A/S in Leverkusen.
We're looking for a dedicated and motivated person who can help us carry out our mission: To create innovative solutions that both progress medical research and maintain the highest standards of laboratory animal care.
You represent an empowering and enabling work environment to ensure problem solving and follow-up interaction on all requests for operational support across the site in Leverkusen and occasionally supporting remote employees in some other European countries.
We expect you to ensure timely and accurate technical assistance to business users, support the local networks and data centers, make recommendations for improvements in support, processes, and systems and work closely with vendors.
- Provide hands-on administration and technical support.
- Perform diagnostics of problems, troubleshoot and develop solutions for business issues
- Assist with overall design, delivery and support of Taconic's Wireless Network infrastructure, data centers, cloud-hosted environments, and voice solutions.
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, desktop phones, company mobile phones, software deployment, security updates, and patches.
- Maintain hardware and software inventories.
- Has a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications and MRP systems such as NetSuite or SAP is necessary for this position.
- Brings hands on experience supporting mixed Windows and Apple laptops, iPhones and Android mobile devices, and Windows and Linux server environments.
- Brings hands on experience in automating VM and server provisioning.
- Brings experience with hybrid cloud models with on-premise data centers as well as SaaS and public and private cloud hosting.
- Has experience from a similar function in an international matrix organization
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and German.
- Excellent people skills to develop relationships with stakeholders and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
- A genuine positive work ethic and the ability to work well in a team environment and in an international setup.

We offer you a part time 20-25 hours onsite position in a modern office building close to public transportation. We offer job bike lease and provide coffee for free during working hours.
Your working hours are expected to 10:00-15:00 o'clock with flexibility when needed.
You will be part of a small team based in Germany (you), Denmark (1) and USA (6). We support and inspire each other and makes sure all contribute to the global IT team. You will refer to Associate Director Technical Services located in the USA.
You and your Danish colleague will cover for each other in holiday seasons etc.
Approximately 100 committed colleagues within science, animal production and animal welfare, lab, supply, warehouse, sales, project management and back-office functions are looking forward to welcoming you. We have a social culture with interest in each other and a good sense of humor.
