Job Title: Senior Expert - Environmental & Social Management

Finance in Motion is a global impact asset manager dedicated to sustainable development in low and middle-income countries. We are seeking a Senior Expert to support our investment teams in executing our approach to environmental and social (E&S) risk management throughout the investment cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of E&S risk management strategies and frameworks for our investment teams.
  • Conduct E&S due diligence on prospective investments, including screening and risk assessment.
  • Negotiate and implement E&S action plans with investees.
  • Monitor and report on the ongoing E&S performance of individual investees and overall fund portfolios.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS).
  • Develop and implement ESG frameworks for new fund mandates.
  • Support technical and policy-level discussions on impact and sustainability issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • University degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, economics, development finance, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in E&S auditing, ESIA, E&S risk management, and similar work in the consulting, investment, or development finance sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of international E&S norms and familiarity with the E&S policies and procedures of development finance institutions.
  • Specialist technical expertise in one or more of the following subjects: supply chains, human rights, labor standards, biodiversity, climate change, circular economy, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail combined with the ability to draw actionable conclusions and pragmatic recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Excellent English language skills; knowledge of other languages of Finance in Motion's countries of operation is considered a plus.
