Job Title: Manager Design Automation Indexable

Walter is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager Design Automation Indexable to join our Product Information Management Team. As a key player in our organization, you will be responsible for advancing automation in design through innovative methods and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of 9 skilled Design Automation professionals, CAD and CAM experts within the Walter PLM organization.
  • Assess costs, resources, and timelines for new designs, design documents, and work processes. Oversee development projects, ensuring they meet their targets.
  • Prioritize the development of individuals to uphold the high standards of our design automation. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.
  • Play a pivotal role in successfully implementing new processes and methods. Provide guidance and conduct training sessions for users across various locations.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development and Product Management to ensure alignment with product development project plans.
  • Provide, maintain, and keep up-to-date a product configurator for special tools in the indexable area.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance the efficiency of tool design, calculation, and construction.
  • Define and manage projects within your team and across teams. Encourage and empower team members to actively participate in projects.
Requirements:
  • Hold a BSc or MSc degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering, though similar fields will also be considered.
  • Demonstrate proactive and systematic work habits with an analytical mindset.
  • Have experience leading teams with a genuine passion for developing individuals and teams.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of multicultural dynamics.
  • Be proficient in English (both verbal and written), with desirable German language skills.
  • Have experience in 3D modeling and design automation, preferably with Siemens NX, is desirable. Experience in CAM programming and simulation are beneficial.
  • Embrace an active role within the Product Information Management team, contributing to its overall success.
  • Maintain an open-minded, forward-thinking approach, continuously seeking innovative solutions.
  • Show exceptional drive and determination in setting and achieving targets, delivering results.
  • Possess leadership qualities and a collaborative team spirit. Thrive in cross-functional, diverse teams within an ever-evolving work environment.
