Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Expert Microphysiological Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for applying cutting-edge in vitro cell models and Organ-on-Chip (OoC) technology to support our project portfolio across various therapeutic indications and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced in vitro assays for defined applications
- Provide scientific support for pharmaceutical R&D projects with expertise in Organ-on-Chip (OoC) technology
- Guide technical staff in developing and implementing advanced in vitro cell models
- Participate in collaborative projects, including communication with project partners and contract research teams
- Engage with internal and external scientific communities, including attending conferences and publishing in scientific journals
- Supervise bachelor's and master's students
Requirements
- PhD in Tissue Engineering, Biotechnology, or related fields and several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Expert knowledge in cell biology, tissue engineering, 3D cell culture techniques, and Organ-on-Chip (OoC) technology
- Practical experience with microfluidic platforms and complex in vitro cell models
- State-of-the-art analytical techniques in cell and molecular biology, including qPCR, immunoassays, in situ hybridization, high-content imaging, microscopy (live/confocal), and TEER measurement
- Experience in image analysis (deep learning or object-based analysis techniques) and handling, processing, and storing highly complex data
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build trusting working relationships and collaborate effectively within a team
- Creativity, unconventional thinking, initiative, and a willingness to take risks
- Ability to work independently, design, conduct, and interpret experiments, and engage with new scientific methods
- Fluent English skills, both spoken and written
