About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to contribute to our research team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT. As a thesis student, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in the field of laser powder bed fusion, a key technology in additive manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement sensor-based process control on an LPBF system
  • Plan and execute scientific experiments in the laboratory
  • Analyze sensor signals and metallographic examination of sample bodies
  • Document and present research results
Requirements
  • Currently studying industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable engineering-scientific degree program
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your work
  • Initial knowledge of control engineering and signal processing is advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent command of German and English
