Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate production schedules to ensure timely communication of changes;
  • Ensure all personnel under supervision have been trained, have signed, and follow relevant SOPs;
  • Communicate with the Production Manager in a timely fashion prior to initiating changes in the schedule or cultural program;
  • Monitor and document plant development and communicate with the Production Manager/Master Horticulturist of any concerns as they arise;
  • Chair Grower's Meetings as requested by the Production Manager;
  • Train or ensure new growers are trained according to our Best Practice document, IPM, and Fertigation;
  • Provide leadership for problem and conflict resolution;
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workplace;
  • Keep the Best Practice Document accurate;
  • Schedule De-Leafing;
  • Provide a weekly Summary of Crop Status to the Production Manager/Master Horticulturist;
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the Production Manager;
  • Weekend work and Shift Work may be required.

Requirements
  • Must have a Degree (diploma or higher) in Horticulture;
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years work experience in large-scale (>4 acres) crop production;
  • Good organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications;
  • Conflict resolution skills;
  • Can work under minimal supervision.
