Coinbase is a leading platform for buying, selling, and trading cryptocurrencies. We're seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our team and help us build the next generation of crypto products and features.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Backend Developer who can design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure cloud-based systems. As a Backend Developer at Coinbase, you'll work closely with our cross-functional teams to build high-quality software that meets the needs of our users.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop efficient and reliable code to meet customer requirements
  • Lead technical tasks from start to finish to help Coinbase achieve its mission
  • Take ownership of your projects and ensure high-quality results
  • Make data-driven decisions to quickly test new solutions
  • Collaborate with the Country Manager, other developers, product managers, and designers at Coinbase
Requirements
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code
  • Develop robust and scalable microservices
  • Be passionate about tackling complex problems and getting things done
  • Have experience with technical tasks and projects from start to finish
  • Be a strong advocate for building an open financial system that brings the world together
  • Be an excellent written and verbal communicator in German and English
Nice to Haves
  • Have a degree and up to 2 years of work experience
  • Have at least 1 year of experience with Golang, Protobuff, GRPC, GraphQL, MongoDB, Docker, Ruby on Rails
  • Have experience working in technical teams in the finance industry
  • Be passionate about blockchain technology and be a power user of crypto exchange applications or DApps
