We are seeking a highly qualified Post-Doc Researcher to join our team at Zeppelin Universität gemeinnützige GmbH. As a key member of our research project DEMOLAW, you will contribute to the conceptual and theoretical development of a large-scale research project and play a leading role in its methodological implementation.

About the Project

DEMOLAW is a three-year ERC-funded research project that analyzes legislative texts in three different political systems (US, UK, EU) with computational methods to answer three major research questions. The project makes three major contributions: providing a novel conceptual perspective on the design of democratic laws, developing and testing an integrated theoretical framework on both the creation and the survival of democratic legislation, and paving the way for a computational analysis of legislative content.

Your Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the conceptual and theoretical development of the research project
  • Play a leading role in the methodological implementation of the project
  • Publish research results in top-tier international journals
  • Present research findings at international conferences
  • Participate in regular meetings of the research project members
Requirements
  • An excellent Ph.D. in political science, public administration, law, or data science
  • A keen interest in comparative public policy and legislative politics, focusing on the US, UK, and/or the EU
  • First experiences with academic publishing
  • Experience in computational text analysis and data collection and management
  • Proficiency in coding with R and/or Python
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, along with a high degree of self-motivation and self-organization
