Job Summary

The Head of Trade Compliance is responsible for ensuring that all international trade activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of international trade laws and regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with evolving trade regulations and communicate regulatory requirements to relevant stakeholders.
  2. Policy Development: Develop and enforce company-wide trade compliance policies and procedures.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks related to trade compliance.
  4. Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to employees involved in international trade activities.
  5. Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance considerations into business operations.
  6. External Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, trade associations, and industry peers.
  7. Audits and Investigations: Coordinate internal audits and investigations to ensure compliance with trade laws and regulations.
  8. Global Team Leadership: Lead and manage an international team of trade compliance professionals.

Requirements

We're looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in trade compliance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, International Relations, or a related field, and advanced degree or professional certification in trade compliance is preferred.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in trade compliance roles within multinational corporations, with a focus on import/export regulations, sanctions, and export controls. They will also have strong knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
