Research Position in Mitochondrial Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research group at the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen. Our team is focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying the detection and elimination of defective mitochondrial ribosomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct biochemical and cell biological experiments to investigate the role of mitochondrial ribosomes in cellular energy production
  • Apply advanced methods in biochemistry and molecular biology to analyze large data sets and structural biology
  • Present research results at national and international scientific conferences
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in life sciences, such as molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, or related field
  • Background and interest in mitochondrial biology and/or gene expression
  • Previous experience in bioinformatics and handling large data sets or in structural biology is advantageous
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
