Join Volocopter GmbH, a leading innovator in the air mobility industry, as a Battery Systems Engineer. As a key member of our Energy Storage Unit (ESU) component development team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our custom-built Electric Propulsion System.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and conduct comprehensive verification activities to evaluate the safety, reliability, and performance of battery systems.
- Ensure adherence to specific requirements outlined by EASA's SC-VTOL and E-19 regulations throughout the battery design, development, and testing processes.
- Develop test verification plans, oversee battery testing, analyze test data, and generate detailed reports on battery performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and verification of batteries in VTOL aircraft.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external certification authorities to provide updates on verification progress.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
- Background in battery development and experience with DO-311A.
- Knowledge of certification and development processes and experience with DO-160G.
- Experience in developing and implementing battery testing methodologies.
- Team player with strong technical discussion skills and ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Basic knowledge of HV and Li-ion batteries, digital communication buses, and/or model-based systems engineering.
- Experience with FMEA and FMECA.
- Knowledge of ARP4761.
- Knowledge of UN38.3, UL 1642, MMPDS, DO-178C, and DO-254.
