Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our team as an AI Development Intern. As an AI Development Intern, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge machine learning models to enhance our AI platform.
Key Responsibilities- Data Extraction and Preprocessing: Extract and preprocess data from transactional documents with varying layouts to prepare it for machine learning model training.
- Collaboration with ML Engineers: Collaborate with our team of experienced ML engineers to design, experiment, and implement state-of-the-art machine learning models.
- System Design and Development: Design and develop a system that effectively addresses customer key performance indicators (KPIs) using state-of-the-art machine learning components.
- Requirements Gathering: Discuss requirements with customer-facing members to understand the problem and its constraints.
- Iterative Improvements: Proactively propose and implement iterative improvements to our AI platform.
- Metrics Evaluation: Propose and implement metrics to evaluate relevant KPIs.
- Software Engineering: Integrate solutions to a common codebase and demonstrate good software engineering practices.
- Communication: Communicate results and analysis on a regular basis.
- Pursuing a PhD / Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field enrolled in a German or EU university.
- Experience in implementing machine learning models in PyTorch, specifically Large Language Models.
- Experience with document understanding.
- Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Experience with OCR methods, OCR-free document understanding methods, e.g., Visual Document Question Answering (visual doc-QA) and Information Extraction.
- Proficient in Python and good software engineering skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Eligible to work in Germany.
