Join Our Team as a Research and Development Intern

Stryker Leibinger GmbH & Co. KG is a leading international company in the field of medical technology, particularly in navigated spinal and cranial surgery. We are offering an internship in Interactive Guidance for Navigated Spinal/Cranial Surgery, where you will have the opportunity to develop prototypes for our Surgical Navigation System and support our team with your proof-of-concept application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop prototypes for our Surgical Navigation System
  • Support our team with your proof-of-concept application
  • Implement your solution using C++ or Python and Matlab
  • Evaluate your solution in an ecosystem consisting of state-of-the-art navigation and imaging systems
  • Learn and apply the latest technologies in machine vision, computer graphics, human-computer interaction, and interactive systems
  • Conduct independent research in the surgery room environment to find out how innovative ideas can be applied in a value-adding way
Requirements:
  • Studying towards a master's degree in computer science, medical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a comparable subject
  • Experience with test setups and object-oriented programming languages (e.g. C/C++), script languages (e.g. Python, Matlab) or libraries (OpenCV, VTK, Qt, DCMTK)
  • Good grasp of mathematics
  • Initiative and flexibility
  • Good command of English and ideally a good command of German
  • Ability to work independently, highly motivated, and committed, and prepared to take on responsibility quickly
