Payroll Specialist Germany – 6 Months (Temp role)

A well-established reputable business is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Payroll Specialist to join their International Payroll team.

The role supports remote and hybrid working model, with a focus on delivering exceptional payroll services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of Germany local legislation, taxes, and other third-party compliance.
  • Hands-on with day-to-day payroll function, from data collection, payroll calculation, data entry to check distribution, variances of pay, and finalizing payroll cycle.
  • Provide internal finance team and payroll provider disbursements of funds for employees, benefit providers, taxes, and other third-party payments as necessary.
  • Monitors payroll-related transactions and verifies that they are processed in compliance with external and internal policies.
  • Ensure all processors, payments, reporting, record keeping are maintained and all payroll-related obligations are met.
  • Build good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and always-showing tact, sensitivity, and support.
  • Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers regarding payroll queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of the EOM payroll Journal.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively to a large remote workforce.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluent with both German and English.
  • End-to-End Germany payroll processing experience, knowledge of Zues is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel required (Vlookups, pivot tables, and index abilities).
  • Strong attention to detail.
