The European Southern Observatory (ESO) is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Science Presenter at the ESO Supernova. As a Science Presenter, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative presentations to our visitors, showcasing the wonders of the universe and the latest discoveries in astronomy.

In this role, you will work closely with our team of science communicators and educators to develop and deliver a range of programs and activities that inspire and educate our visitors. You will have the opportunity to learn about the mission and operations of ESO, as well as develop your presentation skills and knowledge of astronomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and informative presentations to visitors
  • Develop and deliver programs and activities that inspire and educate visitors
  • Work closely with the science communication team to develop and deliver content
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • University degree in science, science communication, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

Language Skills:

The position requires good communication skills in both English and German. You should be comfortable having a conversation about astronomy in both languages.
