About the Role

The Hedging & Margin Controlling CAO CE team at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is looking for a skilled professional to join their ranks. The team is responsible for risk controlling for CAO CE's hedging desk and the calculation, analysis, and reporting of RWE's generation margin for conventional and renewable assets in CE.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Daily reporting of risk positions and performance of CAO CE's hedging desks
  2. Monitoring of market risk limits and adequate communication of limit breaches
  3. Calculation of the wholesale margin of RWE's power generation and support the interfaces to the generation companies
  4. Generating reports and analyses for senior management of RWEST, RWE AG, and the generation companies as well as supervisory boards
  5. Supporting initiatives for process optimisation, automation, and implementation of analysis tools and automation
  6. Collaborating with other controlling departments, CAO Front Office, and accounting
  7. Actively supporting the forecasting and planning process
  8. Closely interacting with Front Office to understand and challenge trading strategies, development of the business, and finding solutions for operational problems

Requirements

  1. University degree in a relevant numerate discipline, e.g. Economics, Mathematics, Science, or equivalent
  2. Experience of Market Risk and ability to understand and solve complex problems
  3. Good problem-solving skills as well as strong self-motivation and willingness to learn new tasks quickly
  4. Understanding of commodity trading, physical asset trading instruments, and/or financial trading instruments, commercial asset optimisation, experience in Controlling, risk controlling of finance
  5. Knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Excel & Access, SQL, VBA, SAP, and OpenLink Endur)
  6. Teamwork: in our team, we support each other and contribute to the team's success with our strengths and knowledge
  7. Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with changing tasks and responsibilities
