Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Animal Care Specialist to join our team at the Leibniz-Institut für Naturstoff-Forschung und Infektionsbiologie. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of our research animals, ensuring their health and safety in accordance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care and maintenance of research animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health and behavior.
  • Conduct regular health checks and report any signs of illness or stress to the research team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of animal care protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure the smooth operation of animal studies.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and research activities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in animal science, biology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in animal care and research settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
