Global Sales Account Manager

Job Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts across various product lines. You will provide support to the Key Account and/or Sales Manager in acquiring projects with customers and work actively to develop and maintain customer relationships. Your primary focus will be on achieving our internal goals and increasing customer satisfaction. You will assist with cost calculations and quotations, lead price negotiations with customers, and negotiate contract terms. You will serve as the primary contact for both customers and internal stakeholders on all customer-related matters.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Develop proactive plans, track progress, and record new business opportunities (NBOs) in relation to sales objectives
  • Support the strategic and commercial evaluation of new projects
  • Prepare offers
  • Negotiate prices with customers
  • Negotiate project- and customer-specific contractual terms
  • Participate in forecast- and long-term planning
  • Support the Key Account Manager/Sales Manager in strategically directing global customer accounts
  • Support the tracking of project- and cost planning
  • Coordinate global customer problems
  • Review contracts in collaboration with the legal department to ensure compliance with BorgWarner guidelines
  • Monitor market dynamics, including customer- and competitive developments, and forward relevant information to sales management for data integration into our market analysis

Your Profile

  • Engineer (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or business administration with a strong technical understanding, at least a Bachelor's degree)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive presence and assertiveness, strong negotiation skills
  • Result-oriented and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Experience with complex products and products requiring explanation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 25%)
