Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description:

G+H Schallschutz GmbH is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be based at the company's headquarters in Mannheim, Germany, but will work primarily at various locations abroad in workshops.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing the workshops to enable them to fabricate steel components designed by G+H, while meeting all quality requirements of G+H and their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain G+H drawings, specifications, and bill of materials to fabricators and support them in interpreting requirements
  • Advise fabricators on production scheduling
  • Respond to technical questions from fabricators about drawings or design
  • Review qualification of fabricators, including WPS, PQR, welders qualifications, shop qualifications, and qualification of NDT personnel
  • Review material certificates
  • Conduct in-progress inspections, including welding seam, dimensional, and painting checks
  • Perform final inspection and acceptance at the contractor's workshop of fabricated goods
  • Review final quality documentation
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company EHS policies and procedures
  • Identify and propose improvements in process, tools, system solutions, and technologies, and roll out improvements when agreed with the leadership team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a reputable college or degree apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in working in metal fabrication shops
  • Knowledge and application of international codes and standards in steel fabrication
  • Analytical and innovative approach in problem-solving
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Basic skills in German
