Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Specialist to join our team at SGS. As a Technical Product Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and advising customers on regulatory and normative requirements for electrical and electronic products, particularly household appliances and lamps/luminaires.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and advise customers on regulatory and normative requirements for electrical and electronic products.
  • Manage, coordinate, and ensure the timely processing of customers' test orders.
  • Be responsible for the professional development of the assigned area (household appliances or lamps/luminaires) and oversee its development and expansion.
  • Represent the area at SGS events, trade fairs, and in standardization and expert committees.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from Sales, Key Account Management, and the laboratory.
  • Maintain close coordination and regular communication with international laboratories and other locations.
  • Ensure technical harmonization between locations and laboratories.
  • Conduct regular customer and market analyses.

Qualifications

  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Extensive professional experience in inspection and testing, with proven expertise in electrical safety, usability, and related areas within the household appliances and/or lamps/luminaires sector.
  • Demonstrate authority in customer interactions, with a strong focus on quality and cost efficiency.
  • Familiarity with retailer programs, along with strong connections to retailers and their sourcing offices.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of English and a willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
