Technical Field Specialist for Photolithography and Semiconductor Processing

As a Technical Field Specialist for Photolithography and Semiconductor Processing, you will play a crucial role in supporting Nikon's customers in Germany.
About the Role- You will be responsible for installing, operating, training, supporting, servicing, and repairing NSR equipment at customer sites.
- In addition to on-site work, you will provide remote support to customers and fellow engineers, as well as deliver service training to new hires.
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and provide on-site and on-call service to customers as per service agreements.
- Travel to customer sites to replace defective units, components, or parts when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs, service records, part usage documentation, and diagnostic updates.
- Submit written service reports detailing all maintenance activities.
- Install or relocate customer equipment and perform associated start-up and check-out procedures.
- Carry out Acceptance Test Procedure.
- Report any interaction with customers or other business-affecting matters in a timely, concise manner.
- Communicate technical issues to other technical staff and customers.
- Escalate issues according to procedure.
- Order, maintain, and return spare parts and tooling as required.
- Provide feedback for improvement on technical documentation.
- Lead and mentor junior FSEs and provide technical training to both customers and new FSEs in your area of expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Mechanical Engineering; knowledge/experience in Optics and Pneumatics is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Photolithography and Semiconductor processing is beneficial.
- Practical hands-on ability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team and self-motivated to learn on the job.
- Excellent English language skills (spoken and written); German is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in business software applications, particularly MS Office.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to collect and analyze data to diagnose and report problems.
- Able to read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Competent to resolve customer problems and communicate necessary information internally.
- Good customer communication skills with the need to act as a contact person between NPE and its customers.
- Represent Nikon effectively and foster a pro-Nikon environment at customer sites.
- Compliance with NPE Core Competencies.
- Professional, service-oriented, and customer-focused attitude.
- Takes ownership of work performed, cost-conscious, resourceful, and proactive.

- Adaptable to irregular working patterns and flexible to travel on a regular basis.
- Full-time, permanent contract.
- Varying work patterns depending on customer requirements.
- Flexibility to work outside core hours including some weekend on-call and weekend working.
- Regular travel abroad (occasional long periods) as per work schedule.
- Responsible for booking own travel arrangements and submitting expense reports according to company policy.
- Based in Germany.
Roughly €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
