Robotics Hardware Development Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Robotics Hardware Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our robotics team, you will design, build, and test innovative robotic systems and their components, such as end-of-arm tools.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing robotic hardware and software systems
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic systems with other technologies
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation and specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment
  • Established background in Robotics or Mechatronic Systems with technology focus in actuator and sensor evaluation
  • SolidWorks experience with best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management
  • Proficiency with Agile Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's
  • Experience related to systems architecture, design, and system integration of mechatronic devices
  • Familiar with using and the capabilities of rapid prototyping equipment (CNC, 3D printing, waterjet, laser cutter)
  • Built and deployed robots to production environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to develop creative and effective hardware solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Fluent English

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in the design of robotic hardware
  • Strong hands-on experience with the ability to craft simple proof-of-concept models
  • Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories, and concepts in mechanical engineering
  • Significant experience with the hardware product development process
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of the business and end-user needs quickly, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right technology solution
  • Fluent German
