We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires a creative problem solver with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities- Design and Development: Develop detailed mechanical designs and 3D CAD models for wheelchair components, focusing on functionality, durability, and aesthetics.
- Prototyping and Testing: Create and test prototypes to validate designs, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and compliance standards. Incorporate iterative feedback into design improvements.
- Material Selection: Research and select materials for components, balancing factors such as cost, strength, weight, sustainability, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Design Modifications: Independently implement design modifications and adaptations to meet evolving requirements or resolve technical challenges.
- Documentation: Prepare precise engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulatory and quality standards.
- Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality expectations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including design, engineering, and product teams, to integrate innovative features and continuous improvements into the product.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in mechanical design, preferably in the healthcare, mobility, or consumer products industries.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, specifically Fusion 360.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, injection molding, and CNC machining.
- Experience with G-suite, Jira, and Confluence is highly desirable.
- You possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and testing tools.
The estimated salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
