Fraunhofer IWES is a leading research institute focused on wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Our team of over 300 scientists and employees, along with 100 students from 30 countries, work together to drive innovation and development in applied research and development at nine sites.
Our Research Focus
We are committed to securing investments in technological developments through validation, shortening innovation cycles, accelerating certification procedures, and increasing planning accuracy using innovative measurement methods.
What You Will Do
As a researcher, you will contribute to the further development of test benches for large wind turbine components, independently perform tests, and measure electrical properties. You may also get involved in material testing or the automation of processes. If you prefer hands-on experience, you can run measurement campaigns on wind turbines in the field, prepare and follow up on wind measurement campaigns, or investigate the subsoil offshore.

Our Benefits
Our positions are limited, with a duration of 2-3 years, depending on the working area. The weekly working time for a full-time position is 39 hours, and we also offer part-time positions. Appointment, remuneration, and social security benefits are based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally, Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
