Job Description

As a Lead Data Engineer at E.ON Digital Technology GmbH, you will play a key role in shaping the company's digitalization strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring the successful implementation of data-driven projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement a data architecture strategy that aligns with the company's goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Lead the development of data models, architecture templates, and shippable data products, ensuring high quality and stability through agile processes and peer code reviews.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance data management and analysis capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data architecture and engineering.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a data architecture or engineering role, with a degree/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud environments, architecture best practices, and tools relevant for machine learning/AI use cases.
  • Proven experience in ETL processes, data extraction, transformation, and loading with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL, as well as knowledge of machine learning frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Azure ML.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and German.
