Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Project Engineering Germany department as a Grid Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing grid connections for our onshore wind and PV projects in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage grid connections for onshore wind and PV projects in Germany
  • Collaborate with project developers, construction teams, and operations teams to ensure optimal grid connection design
  • Analyse and optimise internal grid connection planning and grid connection request processes
  • Develop concepts and strategies for grid-optimised project development and operation
  • Support grid operators in technical, normative, and organisational issues
  • Participate in cross-departmental project teams and take on individual tasks in projects such as grid connection enquiries

Requirements

  • University degree in electrical engineering or industrial engineering specialising in electrical engineering
  • Relevant professional experience in power grid planning, particularly 20/30kV and 110 kV, wind and solar parks or similar infrastructure projects
  • Experience in working with grid operators, consultants, and engineering firms
  • Experience in committee work, e.g. standardisation committees VDE, BDEW, FNN, etc.
  • Good knowledge of relevant technical standards and guidelines, in particular VDE 41XX
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and build sustainable working relationships
  • Project management skills and ability to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks independently
  • Business fluent German and good English skills
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel on business
