About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Consultant to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and high-quality financial planning for our non-life segment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of input data from various stakeholders, fostering a constructive work environment and strong communication within the team.
  • Support the implementation and testing of the Group-wide financial year plan under the new IFRS 17 standard.
  • Develop and maintain systems and tool infrastructure for actuarial analyses and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the efficient execution of IFRS 17 plan processing, quality assurance, and actuarial analyses of IFRS 17 key figures.
  • Prepare communications and address information requirements on financial year plan topics for various stakeholders, including IT and controlling colleagues, business units, and auditors.

Requirements

  • University degree with a quantitative focus (e.g., mathematics, actuarial science, information technology, or economics).
  • Experience in an actuarial role (e.g., Reserving, Pricing, Risk Management, Controlling, Underwriting, Insurance Audit). Knowledge of IFRS17 is a strong asset.
  • Strong affinity for working with large data sets and experience with programming languages such as R and SQL.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, as well as the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated team player with a focus on pragmatic development of innovative concepts and solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
