Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in driver monitoring systems and driver well-being, including cognitive distraction, drowsiness, stress, impairment, and interventions.
  • Develop experimental paradigms to test hypotheses based on modern knowledge of physiology.
  • Collaborate with engineers to create experiments that induce stress, drowsiness, and cognitive distraction in a vehicle setting.
  • Screen, scout, and evaluate technology market trends and potential collaboration partnerships.
  • Develop technologies that deliver breakthrough experiences and work with the broader team to build proof-of-concept/demonstration systems.
  • Compile and organize findings in reports, graphs, charts, and diagrams, and write reports, white papers, conference publications, and patents.
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in Neurophysiology, Physiology, or Psychology, or a related discipline, plus five years of relevant academic or industry experience.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of Neurophysiology.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, etc.
  • Excellent applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Experience with basic methods of psychological and physiological research.
  • Good scripting and programming skills in Python, etc.
  • Publications in leading scientific journals in one of the fields: Psychology, Physiology, Neuroscience.
