Collaborate with your team in the ESG Service Group to evaluate the ESG reports of our clients and guide them towards the future of sustainability reporting. This role allows you to contribute to a vital societal mission, fostering trust in increasingly important ESG metrics and information.
Your Responsibilities
If sustainability is more than just a trend for you and you aspire to enhance transparency in reporting while helping businesses navigate future challenges, you are in the right place.
- Lead the examination of sustainability information for large, internationally oriented companies, exploring engaging topics such as carbon emissions, circular economy metrics, and diversity & inclusion management concepts.
- As a project leader, assist our clients in the operational implementation of exciting regulatory requirements stemming from the EU Taxonomy or the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Support them on their journey towards integrated reporting of financial and ESG information.
- Manage complex topics within audit projects, maintaining communication with our clients while handling planning and organizational tasks. Engage closely with various departments within the client organizations and collaborate with colleagues from other KPMG divisions, both nationally and internationally.
- Utilize an innovative and digital audit approach, continuously evolving the future of auditing alongside your team.
Your Profile
- To thrive as a (Senior) Consultant (m/f/d) in Sustainability Audit / ESG Assurance, you should possess a strong academic background in business administration, industrial engineering, information systems, natural sciences, environmental sciences, or law.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in auditing, preferably with a focus on sustainability reporting, is essential.
- Your solid understanding of common auditing standards (ISAE 3000) and requirements from non-financial reporting (e.g., GRI, TCFD, NFRD, UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights, or EU Taxonomy) as well as financial reporting (IFRS, HGB, US-GAAP) distinguishes you.
- You are committed to making a societal contribution, building trust, and continuously developing yourself and your environment.
- Your strengths include quick comprehension, a strong affinity for numbers, and a structured working style. You are also a true team player.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications (especially PowerPoint and Excel) is required.
- Fluency in German or English at C1 level is necessary, along with the flexibility needed in the auditing and consulting environment.
