Middleware Development Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Middleware Development Manager to join our team at Gerhard D. Wempe GmbH & Co. KG. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our enterprise service bus and API gateway systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of our middleware systems, including the integration of systems within our IT landscape.
- Oversee the strategic development and maintenance of our Mulesoft Anypoint system, ensuring secure and efficient IT operations.
- Position our integration services as a key IT internal service unit, driving the efficient implementation of interface requirements in an agile manner.
- Collaborate closely with product and system owners of our core applications to redesign our communication architecture.
- Manage our external development partner in a near/offshore concept, ensuring result and cost control.
- Oversee internal tasks related to necessary preparations (Tech Lead, IT Consultants, Architecture, QA, IT Infrastructure, etc.).
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or equivalent education.
- At least 5 years of professional experience, including experience in interface communication and API management.
- Deep technical understanding of interface technologies and service-oriented architectures.
- Excellent analytical skills and high quality and responsibility awareness.
- Ability to work independently and self-responsibly in an agile work environment with strong customer orientation.
- Familiarity with project management or leadership.
