Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Engineering intern to join our team at Hannover Re. As a Data Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and contribute to the development of our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of centralized orchestration of internal reports and data pipelines
  • Evaluate different orchestration tools on a Python and cloud infrastructure
  • Compare the tools with a focus on costs, benefits, and scalability
  • Analyze the impact on existing processes
  • Set up an orchestration tool in the cloud for testing
  • Implement batch and event pipelines
  • Collaborate closely on architecture development

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in computer science or business IT
  • Proficient user skills in Python and SQL
  • Knowledge of data integration from APIs, databases, flat files, and event streaming
  • Interest in working with different orchestration tools
  • Motivation to learn new topics and be involved from the start
  • Proficient user skills in German and English
  • Structured way of working and good presentation and communication skills
