Civil Engineer - Construction and Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer - Construction and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of construction and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with German Bauamt project engineers to obtain construction and as-built drawings and other documents.
  • Ensure adherence to safety programs by checking work areas and methods for safe work practices.
  • Interpret contract specifications and determine whether construction meets contract requirements.
  • Design plans, work out specifications, and cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and alteration projects.
  • Make sound engineering compromises and decisions when confronted with complex problems.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Fachhochschule, Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule as an Engineer in the discipline specifically required for the position.
  • Full recognition by German authorities to practice the engineering profession in Germany.
  • German driver's license class B.
  • Office automation skills.
  • English Language Proficiency level B2 and German Language Proficiency level C1.
