University Professorship in Theoretical Particle Physics

We are seeking a highly qualified and internationally recognized expert in theoretical particle physics to join our faculty as a University Professor.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will represent the subject of computational physics in research and teaching, with a focus on theoretical particle physics. Significant research contributions to the SFB TRR 257 "Particle Physics Phenomenology after the Higgs Discovery" are expected. The candidate will play a key role in shaping our collaboration with the University of Bonn, the Technical University of Dortmund, and the Research Center Jülich.
ResponsibilitiesThe University Professor will be responsible for:
- Representing the subject of computational physics in research and teaching
- Contributing to the SFB TRR 257 "Particle Physics Phenomenology after the Higgs Discovery"
- Shaping our collaboration with the University of Bonn, the Technical University of Dortmund, and the Research Center Jülich
- Participating in all physics courses and contributing to the master's degree program with a specialization in particle physics
- Working actively and constructively in the university's self-governing bodies and management structures
The successful candidate will have:
- An internationally recognized and leading expert in the field of theoretical particle physics
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: collider physics, flavor physics, effective field theories
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: quantum algorithms in theoretical particle physics, machine learning in theoretical particle physics, new methods in lattice-QCD or for Monte-Carlo simulations
The University of Siegen offers a unique environment for teaching, study, research, and knowledge transfer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with experts from theoretical flavor physics, theoretical and experimental collider physics in the Center for Particle Physics Siegen (CPPS). The faculty also has opportunities for cooperation with experimental and theoretical quantum optics.
