Research Scientist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The successful candidate will work on developing a measurement set-up for electromyographic signal measurement and motion tracking, and will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to train an artificial neural network for finger-position estimation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a measurement set-up including electromyographic signal measurement and motion tracking systems
- Collect and analyze data to build a new dataset for fast finger motion
- Train an artificial neural network for finger-position estimation
- Make a live demonstration of finger-position estimation with electromyographic signals
- Explore in-context learning techniques and novel neural networks architecture to improve adaptability from subject-to-subject and day-to-day
Requirements:
- Master's degree in biomedical engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, electrical/electronic engineering, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques and experience with EMG data analysis or other biomedical data is a plus
- Experience with spiking neural networks and/or neuromorphic computing is a plus
- 3D modeling is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experimental enthusiasm is a must
