Job Title: Roving Senior Humanitarian Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced humanitarian professional to strengthen our humanitarian field operations. The Roving Senior Humanitarian Specialist will provide technical assistance and capacity building support to our country teams, focusing on humanitarian programming, emergency preparedness, and fund mobilization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical programming support to country teams, including assessment, project design, and grant writing.
  • Support country teams in emergency preparedness planning and capacity building.
  • Deploy to affected contexts to support early response efforts and take a leading operational role in organizing assessments, response design, and mobilizing institutional funding.
  • Act as a key focal point for mobilizing and managing grants from German humanitarian donors, particularly GFFO & BMZ.
  • Contribute to the development and roll-out of global quality standards and associated processes.
Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Significant programming and management experience (7+ years) within an international NGO in several humanitarian contexts.
  • Applied competences in at least two of the following sectors: Food Security/Livelihoods, WASH, shelter, and CVA.
  • Strong writing skills, experience in writing successful proposals, and familiarity with humanitarian donors.
  • Experience in designing and running capacity building and training exercises.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, sensitive to cultural values, and good listener.
  • Proficiency in French is required, German and Spanish is desired.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and frequently, also at short notice, to volatile areas.
