Reliability Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Elanco, a global leader in animal health. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of our equipment and facilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Criticality Assessment

Our Reliability Engineer will work closely with process teams to determine the criticality of equipment within each area of manufacturing. This involves analyzing equipment performance data, failure patterns, and maintenance records to identify potential areas for improvement.

Develop and Implement Maintenance Strategies

Collaborating with maintenance and process teams, our Reliability Engineer will develop and implement effective maintenance strategies that optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. This will involve conducting thorough analysis of equipment performance data, failure patterns, and maintenance records to identify potential areas for improvement.

Perform Reliability Analysis

Using various monitoring techniques, such as condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance tools, our Reliability Engineer will track and evaluate equipment performance. This will enable us to identify trends, anomalies, and potential failures, allowing us to take proactive measures to prevent equipment downtime.

Drive Continuous Improvement

Our Reliability Engineer will lead and participate in cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance practices, processes, and equipment reliability. This will involve collaborating with process teams to develop and execute action plans.

Provide Technical Expertise

As a subject matter expert on maintenance reliability, our Reliability Engineer will provide technical guidance and support to maintenance and process teams. This will involve staying updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Spare Parts Management

Our Reliability Engineer will provide input on equipment criticality and failure rates to guide spare parts management decisions. This will enable us to optimize our spare parts inventory and reduce downtime.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Technical expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, and other relevant technical aspects
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
• Problem-solving abilities, including the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues promptly and efficiently
• A proactive mindset, with a focus on implementing preventive maintenance strategies
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams
• A commitment to continuous improvement, with a focus on staying updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies
