Job Title: Head of Renewable Energy Construction

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Renewable Energy Construction to join our team at Uniper. As a key member of our Renewables team, you will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities related to renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction activities, including site preparation, foundation installation, module mounting, electrical installation, and commissioning, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Establish and maintain safe and efficient worksite operations, including site layout, logistics, material handling, and site security.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, identifying work packages, defining milestones, and managing dependencies to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Prepare and manage construction budgets, track expenses, forecast costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control processes, conduct inspections, and address non-conformities promptly to ensure that construction activities meet the highest quality standards and specifications.
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on construction sites, implement safety protocols and procedures, conduct safety audits, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards associated with construction activities, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement measures to minimize project risks and liabilities.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders, providing updates on construction progress, addressing concerns, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Drive digitalization initiatives within the construction process, leveraging digital tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, transparency, and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in renewable project construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, with a focus on renewables energy systems and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools, and other relevant technologies.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization to achieve project objectives.
  • High level of understanding of digitalization trends and data management practices in construction.
