We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Chair of Materials for Additive Manufacturing. As an Advanced Researcher, you will play a key role in advancing our research in additive manufacturing of metals.

About the Position:

  • The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract for up to 3 years with the possibility of extension.
  • You will work independently on research topics in the field of additive manufacturing of powder-based metallic and intermetallic materials.
  • Your primary focus will be either on material or process development, contributing to the expansion and maintenance of our laboratory equipment.
  • As part of our international team, you will participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, teaching (4 LVS), and contribute to the documentation, publication, and presentation of scientific research results.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree and a doctorate in materials science, mechanical engineering, physics, or a similar field.
  • Extensive experience in additive manufacturing of metals (PBF, DED) and/or materials testing (mechanical properties).
  • Excellent knowledge of materials science and a good understanding of physics.
  • Enthusiasm for working in research and experience in handling complex systems and equipment.
  • A high degree of independence, self-motivation, reliability, and initiative.
  • Self-organization skills, ability to work in a team, and excellent communication skills.

  • A competitive salary of €13 TV-L per hour, with the possibility of upgrading to €14 TV-L based on assigned tasks.
